Dinner Gala at Dining by Design

Campion Platt & Architectural Digest’s Dining by Design table for DIFFA, was inspired by the Romanian abstract sculptor, Constantin Brancusi. The Gala dinner on March 30, kicked off with cocktails and table hopping, and was followed by a seated dinner, dancing, dessert and silent auction. We were seated with Architectural Digest’s media department, along with notables from Calvin Klein & Kate Spade! Whoopie Goldberg was even walking around taking in all the amazing tables!!!

THE ART OF THE TABLE : Architectural Digest sponsored DIFFA’s Dining by Design NY in March, a feast for the eyes that featured nearly 40 dynamic dining environments on display, culminating in a gala fundraising dinner.  Architectural Digest presented a table designed by AD100 architect Campion Platt, who found inspiration in the work of the early 20th-century sculptor Constantin Brancusi.

The AD space was defined by folding screens upholstered in Old World Weavers fabric, framing the focal point of an eight-food sculptural column from Lyle & Umbach at Holly Hunt.  With Stark sisal underfoot, custom Edelman Leather cushions topped the rough-hewn Tucker Robbins stools surrounding the oval KNOLL Studio dining table.  The finishing touch : Platt commisioned artist Marcela Silva to create 10 small plaster sculptures that sat in teh center of each Haviland China place setting.
